Riding close by enemies attempting to reach your archers will cause them to either drop their own bows and pull out melee weapons, or turn around and leave their back unshielded, letting your own archers nail them. Cavalry doesn't understand how to use the jousting lance properly, which is particularly noticeable in tournaments, where you can typically find a trio of knights stuck in a corner on their horse, poking at each other for 0 damage with the lance.
The chance of archers shooting you in the back, or the guarantee of a guy on a horse stabbing you in the back? Smarter then you think. Note that they still do this even if you have a tower shield pasted to your back, falling back into stupidity. Played straight if you auto-resolve a battle. Unless you outnumber the enemy group vastly, you're going to suffer quite a few casualties on your side, including supposedly 'elite' troops.
You're almost always better off just jumping into the battle, and if you don't really feel like fighting, just hang back and watch your guys slaughter the enemy forces, especially if they're mostly low level units.
Also played straight if you use the cheat to let the computer takeover your character. While interesting to watch, your character then becomes incredibly stupid and can barely hold his own against peasants.
The American and European boxarts depict roughly the same scene, but the American boxart has a bunch of bright light added and has a clear sky, with expressions indicating it is set during preparation for battle and is drawn slightly more 'realistically'.
The European art is much darker and stylized, set during battle and has an overcast sky. Warband Steam version has an achievement for visiting each of the towns, but only the towns not the castles and villages. It still requires to travel across the whole continent. An especially outrageous case of this occurs when the player finds himself in a besieged city that has no hope of defending itself.
It is impossible to leave the city by stealth or to surrender, the only options available on the city screen are to join the battle or send the troops in on their own. And due to the fact that the, the only thing you can do is throw all your troops in vain at the enemy and then let the enemy knock you out as well.
Only after being defeated and captured are you allowed to load a prior saved game. However, if you fight a much larger army with a smaller one, and win, you can still gain a lot of renown, and the bigger the difference in size the better.
This works even if you're by yourself or with a very small party, and get attacked by a group of say, 40 bandits. However, keep in mind that unless you're using high level units and utilizing them where they work best, such as cavalry in an open field battle without hills or a river, it can be difficult to fight off a larger force.
Hence why winning with a smaller group earns you bigger renown. While the starting stats still favor females, the politics system favors males and up front tells you at character creation that non-noble non-males are the equivalent of a. This extends into the plot, with the two female Claimants both having sexism as a major part of denying their claim to their thrones.
Hakim in particular has little more excuse for why Arwa is unfit to rule than 'Women are evil seducers who are too incompetent to run the Sultanate, and the previous ruler either had more kindness than sense to name Arwa his successor, was seduced and deceived by her, or possibly both.
Tournaments are an essential part of a feast, giving the player something to do besides talk, as feasts themselves are rather plain. He is level 31 and has in all weapon skills, and huge ranks in several combat skills. He hopes one day to earn enough money to buy a farm and marry a girl.
Multiple towns have very strange distances in relation to each other. A firing line of rookie troopers can fail to hit an entire army. Time taken to break even: approx. It would take about days for your initial 10k denars to give you a nett 20k profit. Also note that the profitable Rivacheg is held by Meriga, who, along with Atis of Bariyye and Belir of Narra , have a -3 disposition towards you from the beginning of the game on account of being Bad-tempered.
You can wait for those towns to change hands, but that is unreliable. A village doing well in Silverstag can provide between 1. A typical mediocre castle gives about the same, but a prosperous castle can provide up to 3k a week under optimum conditions.
Let's say 2. However, factor in the wages needed to garrison a castle. A town is a huge money spinner - according to Silverstag figures, at least, with Rents providing k per week depending on Prosperity and Tariffs providing the majority of your funds: k for average Prosperity, and up to 24k for high Prosperity.
With a capable Court Steward in charge of a town Silverstag option - Ymira, Katrin, Marnid, Jeremus with appropriate skill levels , it can exceed 30k easily.
In vanilla Warband, I think the figures are still more or less in this range. By the day mark, most playthroughs will see you owning at least some high-income fiefs, if not vast swathes of land. By that time, the money coming in from enterprises comprises only a minor portion of your income - enough, perhaps, to fully cover the cost of an expensive personal army k a week.
So it's a personal decision, whether or not you think it's worth it. An alternate way to increase profits is to "cut out the middleman", so to speak, by simply looting villages and plundering the raw materials needed by your enterprise to make finished products. This can completely phase out the need for buying raw materials from the market and waiting for more from the outlying villages and trading caravans. However, looting villages drastically decreases your honor , drastically decreases relations with the faction and vassal who owns the village you loot, and obviously drastically decreasing relations with said village.
But when you choose to loot villages to gain raw materials, make sure the villages aren't owned by the same faction who owns the town in which your enterprise s are located, as the faction's authorities will seize your business. Asking villagers what their villages and towns produce before making your choice can help you get a grasp of the long-term prospects for building a facility in a town. Keep in mind castle villages will trade goods to the nearest town of their own faction - sometimes meaning that raw materials will become available or unavailable to a town based upon whether the same faction that owns the town owns the nearby castles or not.
A bug exists in pre v1. This can be resolved simply by patching up to any version after 1. Bannerlord Factions Concepts Companions Quests. Factions Cultures Heroes. Nations Heroes Quests. I used to think that having too many weaveries in Calradia will cause the prices to drop significantly, so the first time, I did try to buy various industries even if it wasn't the most profitable, but that hasn't happened, so now I just buy whichever one is best.
And although the industries do add up, their profit is generally constant. Compare that to a village or town, which may start out small but can grow to quite a lot. So besides industries, try to keep your villages and towns in proper order. Castles also grow in income and I think it relates to the villages around it, but since sometimes you can't build in all the nearby villages, just focus on them not getting looted or help them to grow in prosperity also.
Cryten View Profile View Posts. Of course one point to be made is that at war if you have any enemies neg reputation you will have to spend the whole time guarding your village or it will be looted.
One of the best reasons to give villages to honoerable vassals. Aqu View Profile View Posts. Rivacheg dyeworks and Curaw ironworks are maybe the best investments in enteprises. If you have the money to invest then do it. However there are some trade routes which can give lot higher profits and require less investments.
This requires of course that you travel those routes, but travelling doesn't take so many days and in a week you can make lot of money.
