Or they just saved time and put the main address or some randomly selected one. You could also try blacking out the actual address and trust the postal system to deliver it somewhere. A note is not necessary. The bar code on each individual sleeve identifies unique subscribers.
I assume you have tried returning multiple movies in the same envelope? I do this all the time. Try calling their customer service line at or yes, you will get a live human. They can probably help you. You get X many of these a year, where X is a mysterious number greater than 1.

This may be urban legend heard it from a friend who had a friend who's brother worked at Netflix Santa Ana and said that returned movies that didn't have the barcode facing out weren't processed until the end of the day.
The netflix ones rip into two pieces when they are opened, they can't be reused. This is one problem I don't have. I'll use one of the envelopes to return the discs and the other envelope. Do you really think the guy who has to manually scan the 2nd DVD is going to take care of the envelope to make it be reused? I've had to mail back Netflix movies without their envelope before, I even was extra paranoid and sent them in a padded mailer so they couldn't blame me for any problems from not using their paper envelopes.
