Goonies who is sloth

Are you hungry? I got a Baby Ruth. Sloth : Ruth! Chunk : Here you go. Both scream]. Chunk : I'm sorry, mister! I'm sorry! Then, he realizes he's free]. Chunk : Gee, mister. You're even hungrier than I am. Sloth : Mama! Mama Fratelli : Come to mama Slothy, come on hmm? Sloth : Mama, you've been bad. Mama Fratelli : Oh, Slothy. I may have been bad. I may have kept you chained up in that room but it was for your own good.

Sloth : Yeah! Mama Fratelli : You remember that song I used to sing to you? Mama Fratelli : You were little back then? Mama Fratelli : [singing] Rock-a-bye baby on the tree top. When the wind blows the cradle will rock.

When the bough breaks the cradle will fall Sloth : Break! Mama Fratelli : No! I only dropped once. Sloth : Ahh! After Jake leaves the room, Mikey pokes his head in, but the two get only the briefest glimpse of one another. A while later, Chunk's tied to a chair and left in the basement with Sloth. Chunk quickly discovers that the way to Sloth's heart is through his stomach—which he can relate to—and makes a friend for life when he offers Sloth a Baby Ruth candy bar.

Product placement is alive and well. Once Sloth yanks the chains out of the wall and frees his new friend, they head into the tunnels—Chunk because he wants to find and save his friends; Sloth… probably because he's gotten really used to hanging out in cold, dark, underground places.

We lose track of these two for much of the film, but they suddenly reappear when they're needed most. An extended version of the sheriff phone call scene was filmed, and had Sloth eating an entire T-bone steak [1] ; this was cut from the film. Additional scenes were removed from the final cut, including Sloth and Chunk discovering the path the Goonies left and a final scene with everyone celebrating at the Walsh residence.
